Ritningar om vevställverk apparater (Järnväg allmänt)

Hi,

I've tried to find drawings of the "vevstellverk" apparatus. There are some photos of the apparatus under construction at:

https://www.ekeving.se/stlv/mek/vev/vev1.html

but no photo or drawings of the internal mechanism. I have a vague idea of how it works with "linjaler" from:

https://www.ekeving.se/stlv/mek/sib/index.html

but I'd like to see drawings of the various parts, the shape of the pointer ("visare") that is above the "vev" with maltese cross action. It is visible on this photo:

http://www.vaunut.org/kuva/145237?liikp1=1687

but there are no drawings. The page:

https://www.ekeving.se/stlv/mek/sib/index.html

shows the way the visare is acting with the linjaler but the connection between "vev" and "visare" is what I'm missing.

Hi Pekka!

In one of the drawings from Ekeving, Fig 121 (from "Signalteknisk handbok") shows some of the details in a small "vevställverk" called "ställbock". The "vev" has wheel for the wire roop to the signal. In the upper part of the wheel is a round pin. The lower part of "visare" is formed like a gable which engages with the pin. When the wheel is rotated the pin makes the "visare" turn the opposite way. The "visare" cannot fall back beceause the end of the gable rests on a cirular part ocn the back of the wheel, shown as a dotted line n Fig 121. When the "vev" is turned a complete turn the "visare" is locked by the pin. The gable is formed in the end to operate smoothly with the wheel an pin.

I guess you mean this image:

https://www.ekeving.se/stlv/mek/sib/fig120.jpg

yes, it shows the dotted line of the drum, and the dotted line of the "fork" of the "visare".

If one starts to rotate the "vev" the fork will move sideways, and it will loose connection to the pin and rest on the drum. There is no way the fork could prevent the "vev" being turned more that one full revolution or is there? I cannot see how.

If there was a "maltese cross" system like on the "ställbock" on photo:

http://www.vaunut.org/kuva/145237?liikp1=1687

it would stop the movement as the pin is going into another "fork" of "visare" and the shape of the "visare" bottom is such that the "vev" cannot be rotated anymore.

On a "vevstellverk" the "visare" starts to move the moment one is starting to rotate the "vev". What if the "vev" is only rotated a few degrees?

In Finland "vevstellverk"s have three kinds of vevs:

turnout moving "vev"s

locking "vev"s and

signal "vev"s.
What if one is moving the locking "vev" only a few degrees so, that the "visare" moves enough to allow the "linjal" to move. Would it not mean that the locking of the turnouts is possibly not secured? Should, or do the mechanics check that the "vev"s are rotated full revolution?
